How to communicate with Louisiana legislators about retirement issues

The purpose of this blog post is to help people communicate about a matter of public concern, NOT TO LOBBY.

Hello, my name is Jane Doe, and I want to tell Senator/Representative Smith that I strongly oppose the upcoming retirement proposals. These are radical, unconstitutional plans that break promises made to state workers. It includes massive tax increases on state workers. It changes the established rules to hurt state workers, and it is going to make the UNFUNDED ACCRUSED LIABILTY of the retirement systems worse not better.

This is how it's going to hurt my family (explain).

Where does Senator/Representative John Doe stand on the retirement proposals?

Can he call me back at XYZ phone number? This is very important to me and my family.

Thank you for your service. Good-bye.
